Watercolour Poinsettia Embossing Folder Card with Wet-in-Wet Technique

Ein Projekt aus unserer Live-Show STUDIO 3 - BRANCHEN-NEWS - Sei dabei bei Tonis neuesten Updates und einem Projekt - Sendung vom 8. Juni 22 · 08.06.2022 · ab 12:45 ansehen

Paint a poinsettia embossing folder using the wet-in-wet watercolour technique to create an abstracted, forgiving look with soft colour blends and halos. This non-traditional approach produces beautiful light and shade effects without requiring precision.

Schritt für Schritt

  1. Prepare your watercolour card and embossing folder, or use normal card if preferred. ▶ watch 12:45
  2. Set up two cups of water—one for washing your brush and one clean cup for painting. ▶ watch 13:00
  3. Mix your watercolour pigments into separate pools: red, yellow, orange, and pink. ▶ watch 18:30
  4. Wet your brush with clean water and paint one petal of the embossing folder with water only. ▶ watch 20:00
  5. Drop your chosen colour into the wet petal and watch it bloom across the water. ▶ watch 20:15
  6. Add a second colour to the same wet petal by touching your brush to the colour and letting it flow into the water. ▶ watch 20:30
  7. If you create a puddle of excess water and colour, use a tissue-dried brush to scoop out the centre, creating a halo effect. ▶ watch 23:00
  8. Move to a different petal and repeat the process, allowing each petal to dry before painting adjacent ones to prevent colours bleeding together. ▶ watch 24:00
  9. Once dry, add a halo around your painted petals by wetting the area around them and dropping in blue or purple pigment. ▶ watch 26:00
  10. Use a clean, damp brush to drag the halo colour outward, creating soft definition around the flowers. ▶ watch 27:00
