Elevated Butterfly Card with Coloured Wings

Create a striking card featuring vintage-style butterflies with raised, coloured wings. The die elevates the butterfly wings so they stand proud of the card, and you can add colour and sparkle for a dimensional, elegant effect.

Schritt für Schritt

1. Stamp all three vintage butterfly designs onto white or sparkly cardstock using black ink. ▶ watch 24:30
2. Allow the ink to dry completely. ▶ watch 25:00
3. Place the stamped sheet into your die-cutting machine with the butterfly die that elevates the wings. ▶ watch 25:15
4. Run through the machine to cut and raise the butterfly wings. ▶ watch 25:30
5. Carefully remove the die and peel away the butterfly from the cardstock. ▶ watch 25:45
6. Use an electric eraser to gently remove any ink marks from the background if needed. ▶ watch 26:00
7. Add colour to each butterfly wing using a blending brush and ink pad in coordinating colours. ▶ watch 26:30
8. Shape-mould the butterfly gently to add dimension and curve to the wings. ▶ watch 27:00
9. Adhere the coloured butterfly to the centre of your card base, positioning it so the raised wings catch the light. ▶ watch 27:30

Tipps aus der Show

• The wings elevate so you can see the sparkle and detail of the cardstock through them.
• You can fussy-cut the butterflies away from the page for a cleaner look.
• Frame the butterflies in shadow-box frames with a light behind them for a stunning display piece.
