Jelly Plate Printed Background with Stencil and Roller

Create a multi-layered textured background using a jelly plate, stencils, and paint rollers. Layer different coloured paints and stencil patterns to build up a unique, vibrant background with both positive and negative print effects.

Schritt für Schritt

1. Squeeze a small amount of mixed blue and red nature paint onto your jelly plate. ▶ watch 14:30
2. Place the Masonry stencil on top of the wet paint on the jelly plate. ▶ watch 15:30
3. Remove the paint from inside the stencil using a squeegee or scraper, leaving the stencil in place. ▶ watch 15:45
4. Take a print by pressing paper onto the stencil and jelly plate, then peel away to reveal the first layer. ▶ watch 16:00
5. Add a bright neon orange acrylic paint to a clean section of the jelly plate. ▶ watch 16:15
6. Roll a textured roller across the orange paint to pick up colour. ▶ watch 16:30
7. Roll the textured roller over the top of the stencil that is still on the jelly plate. ▶ watch 16:45
8. Carefully lift off the stencil to reveal the layered print with both positive and negative effects. ▶ watch 17:00
9. Allow the print to dry completely before adding any further layers. ▶ watch 17:15
10. Add a final layer of white acrylic paint to the jelly plate and take another print to create additional texture and depth. ▶ watch 17:30

Tipps aus der Show

• Less is always more when applying paint to a jelly plate.
• You can reuse the jelly plate multiple times; simply wipe it clean with white acrylic on paper or warm soapy water.
• Let each layer dry before adding the next to avoid smudging.
