A charming easel card featuring cute elephants with die-cut stars, spray-painted in pastel rose and violet. The card stands up when a tag is inserted, and folds flat for posting. It combines stamped elephants, watercoloured details, and shimmering sprayed backgrounds.
Score your card blank in half down the centre to create two equal panels for the easel mechanism.
Die-cut star shapes from cardstock using the Elephantastic die set.
Die-cut the Celebration die with all its detailed stars and textures onto cardstock for the inside panel.
Place your die-cut pieces in a spray box with kitchen paper and apply a light mist of rose pastel spray ink.
Apply violet purple spray ink to different areas to break up the colour and create depth.
Press kitchen towel onto the sprayed pieces to remove excess ink and speed up drying.
Mount your sprayed panels onto red cardstock, leaving a small red border around each piece.
Glue the inside panel to the card blank, then position the two outer panels opposite each other to create the easel structure.
Cut a small square of cardstock as a stamping platform and stamp presents using black Versafine ink.
Stamp bunting across the corner of your background piece using black ink.
Stamp the elephant with hat and the 'Remember you've got a friend in me' sentiment onto white cardstock using black ink.
Watercolour the elephant with a pale grey wash, then add darker grey shading around the knees, ears and tail.
Add pink to the elephant's cheeks and toes, then paint blue stripes on the hat and coordinate the bunting in blue.
Paint the presents in red and green, keeping the detail minimal and blocked in.
Die-cut the elephant and sentiment pieces using their complementary dies.
Mount the background scene onto red cardstock, leaving a red border, then glue only the lower half to the card base to allow the easel to flex.
