Create a beautiful hand-painted lady card featuring a whimsical figure with a watercolour gown in soft blues and purples. Stamp the lady onto a delicate bubble background and use wet-on-wet watercolour techniques to blend seamless colours on her dress and floral bouquet. Add hand-painted details to the leaves and flowers for an artistic, cohesive finish.

Pas à pas

1. 

   Stamp the lady figure in black ink onto your dried bubble background, positioning her so the bubbles remain visible around her.

   Load a clean brush with water and paint over the entire skirt area of the stamped lady image to prepare the surface for wet-on-wet watercolour painting.

3. 

   Drop watercolour paint into the wet skirt area, starting with one colour at the top. Allow the paint to bleed naturally into the water.

4. 

   Add a second colour to the middle section of the skirt, pouncing it gently into the wet area to create an ombre effect that blends with the first colour.

5. 

   Add a third colour to the base of the skirt, blending it with the existing colours. Work the colours together so they blend seamlessly without visible lines between them.

6. 

   Paint the bouquet held by the lady using random pouncing motions with pink watercolour. Focus on adding colour to the flower details rather than filling the entire bouquet area.

7. 

   Add colour to the leaves within the bouquet using green tones from your watercolour palette. Use the same pouncing technique with your brush to maintain consistency with the rest of the design.

   Allow the painted areas to dry completely before adding any embellishments or sparkle. The watercoloured skirt and floral bouquet should be fully dry to the touch.

Astuces de l'émission

• Never colour the entire image; pounce colour into the details only for a softer, more elegant appearance.
• The wet-on-wet technique creates automatic colour blending, so avoid overworking the paint once applied.
• If you don't have a steady hand, skip the outline stage or use a hand-cupping technique where you place one hand inside the other to stabilise your brush hand.
