A striking 3D card featuring a coloured shark appearing to break through a decorative net. The design uses a die-cut scales pattern as a net effect, with the shark positioned on a raised foam layer to create dramatic depth and dimension.
Die-cut the stylish scales pattern from your card stock using the full-size die.
Score lines down both sides of the centre panel using a scoreboard, positioning them at the edges to create a frame.
Crease and fold the scored lines inward to create an archway effect, using a bone folder for crisp edges.
Apply double-sided tape to both folded edges to prepare for assembly.
Create a watercolour background by inking three ink pads (yellow, green, and blue) onto a separate card panel.
Spritz the inked panel with water and blend the colours together, adding more ink as needed for depth.
Dry the background panel with a heat gun to set the colours and prevent curling.
Stamp the hook sentiment and 'catch you later' text onto the background panel using black ink.
Stamp the shark image onto white card and colour it with watercolours, adding orange to the belly, blue to the back, and details to the eyes and gills.
Carefully cut out the coloured shark with scissors, leaving a white border around it.
Snip away sections of the scales die-cut to create the illusion of the shark and hook tearing through the net.
Secure the folded archway panel to the background using the pre-applied double-sided tape.
Use a stencil to add wave details to the white edges of the card base with ink.
Apply double-sided tape to the back of the assembled panel and attach it to a blank card.
Mount the coloured shark on a foam pad and position it within the torn net opening.
