3D Embossed and Scored Star Embellishment

Create a dimensional star embellishment by embossing the stencil design, cutting it out, scoring valley and mountain folds, and assembling it into a 3D shape. Add colour with ink pads and embossing powder for a striking effect.

Passo dopo passo

1. Place the star stencil in your Sizzix machine with embossing mat and run through to create raised detail ▶ watch 46:00
2. Cut out the embossed star shape carefully with scissors ▶ watch 46:30
3. Score three lines across the star from point to point using a scoring tool and ruler, measuring to ensure accuracy ▶ watch 48:00
4. Turn the star over and score three more lines on the reverse side to create all the fold lines needed ▶ watch 48:30
5. Fold the star along all scored lines, creating valley and mountain folds to form the 3D shape ▶ watch 50:00
6. Press all the points together to help set the folds and shape the star into its 3D form ▶ watch 50:30
7. Apply colour using an ink pad, pressing it onto the raised surfaces of the star ▶ watch 52:00
8. Sprinkle clear embossing powder over the inked star to cover it completely ▶ watch 53:00
9. Heat set the embossing powder with a heat tool until it melts and becomes shiny ▶ watch 53:30
10. Raise the star points back up to their full 3D position once the embossing powder has dried ▶ watch 54:30

Consigli dalla puntata

• You can make the star as pointy as you like by adjusting how much you raise the points
• Use a scoreboard or ruler to help you score accurately from point to point
• You can use the white acrylic spray or brush white over the top for a snowy effect
