Stencilled Star Background Card with Elephant

A tall, slim card featuring a stencilled star background created with spray ink, with a cute elephant character as the focal point. The sentiment is protected with masking tape and embellished with glitter embossing powder for an iridescent effect.

Passo dopo passo

1. Glue a glitter background panel onto your card blank as the front layer. ▶ watch 3:00
2. Apply low-tack masking tape over the sentiment area to protect it from spray. ▶ watch 4:00
3. Apply a third strip of masking tape over the joint to prevent spray seeping through. ▶ watch 4:15
4. Shake the Izink spray well to disperse the iridescent pigment into the liquid. ▶ watch 4:45
5. Place a stencil over the top half of the card and spray the Izink from a height, then allow to dry. ▶ watch 5:15
6. Cover the sprayed top half with card and reposition the stencil to spray the bottom half. ▶ watch 6:15
7. Use a heat gun to dry the spray, then carefully remove the masking tape to reveal a crisp sentiment area. ▶ watch 7:00
8. Stamp the sentiment onto the protected white strip using black Versafine ink. ▶ watch 8:00
9. Apply glitter embossing powder to the stamped sentiment and heat emboss to create an iridescent effect. ▶ watch 9:00
10. Round the corners of the card using a corner punch. ▶ watch 10:30
11. Lightly ink the edges of the card with the same green ink pad used for the sentiment to soften the white edges. ▶ watch 10:45
12. Attach foam pads to the back of the stamped sentiment panel and adhere it to the card base. ▶ watch 11:45
13. Stamp the elephant character onto watercolour card using black Versafine ink. ▶ watch 13:00
14. Watercolour the elephant with grey, darker tones and pink to bring it to life. ▶ watch 14:15
15. Heat dry the watercoloured elephant, then die-cut it using the complementary outline die. ▶ watch 15:30
16. Attach foam pads to the elephant and position it in the centre of the star effect on the card. ▶ watch 16:45

Consigli dalla puntata

• Apply multiple strips of masking tape over joints to prevent spray seeping through.
• The Izink spray dries quickly, so work carefully to avoid smudging.
• Glitter embossing powder takes slightly longer to heat emboss than regular powder, so allow extra time.
