A striking card featuring layered geometric shapes in bright, blended distress oxide colours creating a mid-century modern focal point. The design uses a stencil to build up overlapping triangles and circles, finished with a simple sentiment.

Schritt für Schritt

1. Place the geometric shapes stencil on your card and position it to create your focal point area. ▶ watch 26:15
2. Apply yellow distress oxide ink through the first triangular shape in the stencil using a sponge. ▶ watch 28:00
3. Move the stencil slightly and apply pink distress oxide ink through the next shape, overlapping slightly with the yellow to create colour blending. ▶ watch 29:00
4. Apply turquoise distress oxide ink through a third shape, continuing to overlap and blend the colours together. ▶ watch 29:30
5. Use the circle or egg-shaped element from the stencil at the bottom of your focal point, inking it in one of your chosen colours. ▶ watch 31:15
6. Stamp a simple sentiment onto the card using one of the solid sentiment stamps. ▶ watch 32:00
7. Optional: add enamel dots or other embellishments to enhance the design. ▶ watch 36:00

Tipps aus der Show

• Work in odd numbers when layering shapes—typically three shapes create a pleasing composition.
• Yellow, pink and turquoise distress oxides blend beautifully together and are good starter colours when trying a new ink brand.
• This design works particularly well for masculine cards as it keeps the design clean and graphic without excessive embellishment.
