Create a layered background using stencils and coloured ink sprays to build depth and colour. This technique produces a soft, blended effect with a halo of colour around your stencilled design.

Schritt für Schritt

1. Place a stencil on your watercolour cardstock and spray purple ink spray through the centre of the stencil. ▶ watch 11:30
2. Spray blue ink spray around the outer edges of the stencilled area to create a colour gradient. ▶ watch 11:45
3. Lightly mist the stencilled area with water to allow the colours to bleed and soften the edges. ▶ watch 12:00
4. Remove the stencil and allow the background to dry completely. ▶ watch 12:10
5. Replace the stencil over the dried background and ink through it using black ink spray to create a shadow effect around the design. ▶ watch 12:20

Tipps aus der Show

• You don't need the stencilled effect to be perfect; a fuzzy, slightly imperfect finish looks more artistic.
• Allow each layer to dry between applications for better control of the colours.
