Stencilled Halo Background with Floral Arch

Build a layered background using stencils with multiple ink spray colours to create a soft halo effect, then add a large floral stamp around the edges. The technique combines stencilling and stamping for a sophisticated, multi-layered look.

Schritt für Schritt

1. Place a stencil on watercolour cardstock and spray purple ink spray through the centre to create a circular base. ▶ watch 40:00
2. Spray blue ink spray around the outer edges of the stencilled area to create a colour gradient and halo effect. ▶ watch 40:15
3. Mist the stencilled area lightly with water to allow the colours to blend and soften. ▶ watch 40:30
4. Dry the background with a heat tool or allow it to air dry. ▶ watch 40:45
5. Reposition the stencil over the dried background and ink through it using black ink spray to create a shadow effect. ▶ watch 41:00
6. Ink the large floral flourish stamp with sticky ink pad and stamp around the edges of your stencilled background, positioning it to frame the design. ▶ watch 42:00
7. Apply rose gold embossing powder over the stamped floral image. ▶ watch 43:00
8. Heat set the embossing powder with a heat gun. ▶ watch 43:15
9. Add a sentiment stamp using black ink in the remaining space on the card. ▶ watch 45:00
10. Mount the finished background onto a black card base to make the design pop. ▶ watch 49:00

Tipps aus der Show

• Experiment with different embossing powder colours to see how they interact with your ink spray base colours.
• You can use the same stencil multiple times with different colours to build up layers of depth.
