Schritt für Schritt

1. Cut a piece of white card stock slightly longer than square in size, and prepare two mat layers in pink and black. ▶ watch 7:30
2. Stamp textured background elements from the Beautiful Notes set onto the white card using a bright teal ink, creating a spotty textured border around the edges. ▶ watch 8:00
3. Change ink colour and stamp additional texture elements using orange ink to add variety and depth to the background. ▶ watch 8:30
4. Stamp the large floral design in the centre of the card in true black ink. ▶ watch 14:15
5. Stamp the circular hoop elements from the set in black ink, positioning them to frame or complement the main flower. ▶ watch 15:15
6. Dry the stamped ink thoroughly with a heat gun to prevent smudging. ▶ watch 16:00
7. Select nesting rectangle dies with stitch detail and position them over the floral design to create a ricochet effect, ensuring they are perfectly straight. ▶ watch 17:30
8. Run the card through your die-cutting machine with the dies in place, then carefully peel away the tape and remove the die-cut pieces. ▶ watch 19:45
9. Edge the die-cut apertures with teal ink to soften any harsh white lines. ▶ watch 23:00
10. Glue the white card layer onto the black mat layer, then mount both onto the pink card base. ▶ watch 24:30
11. Use foam pads to 3D mount the die-cut flower pieces back into the apertures at varying heights for dimension. ▶ watch 26:45
12. Colour the elevated die-cut elements using teal and orange inks to coordinate with the background, highlighting the front and back of each piece. ▶ watch 29:45

Tipps aus der Show

• Use removable or low-tack tape when masking for die-cutting to avoid damaging your card.
• Nesting dies with stitch detail on both sides create decorative effects on both the front and back of cut-out pieces.
• Varying the height of foam pads creates a rise-and-fall effect that adds visual interest to dimensional elements.
