A mixed-media card combining watercolour washes with stamped rose and watch imagery, layered with coloured wood pieces and mounted on black card for contrast. The design builds dimension through loose painting, fussy-cut stamps, and coordinating MDF embellishments.

Schritt für Schritt

1. Stamp the rose watch stamp set onto watercolour card using Versafine ink, creating your focal point images. ▶ watch 24:15
2. Fussy cut the stamped images carefully, leaving a small white halo around the edges if desired. ▶ watch 24:45
3. Apply a loose watercolour wash to the card base using complementary colours (pinks and purples), working freely without worrying about precision. ▶ watch 25:15
4. Build up the watercolour background with additional colours, allowing them to blend naturally on the damp paper. ▶ watch 25:45
5. Mount the fussy-cut stamped images onto foam pads to create dimension and lift them from the background. ▶ watch 26:30
6. Colour one of the small MDF heart pieces using an acrylic pen in a complementary shade. ▶ watch 30:00
7. Adhere the coloured MDF heart to the card using wet glue, positioning it as an accent element. ▶ watch 30:15
8. Mount the entire decorated topper onto black card to frame it and make the colours pop. ▶ watch 30:45
9. Adhere the black-backed topper to your card base to complete the design. ▶ watch 31:15

Tipps aus der Show

• You do not need to use waterproof ink if you allow the stamped images to dry long enough before applying watercolour.
• Do not worry about perfection—allow colours to blend naturally and embrace the mixed-media aesthetic.
• Adding a black card backing behind your topper frames the design and brings colours to the foreground.
