Watercoloured Parchment Paper Candle Wrap

Create a decorative wrap for a pillar candle by watercolouring parchment paper and stamping it with large floral designs. The heat from the candle melts the wax slightly, embedding the parchment and creating a beautiful, dimensional effect.

Pas à pas

1. Dampen parchment paper with water using a spray bottle. ▶ watch 35:45
2. Apply watercolour paint to the damp parchment, allowing colours to blend and move naturally. ▶ watch 36:00
3. Allow the watercoloured parchment to dry completely. ▶ watch 36:30
4. Stamp the large sunflower and blooms design onto the watercoloured parchment using a dark ink pad. ▶ watch 37:00
5. Wrap the stamped parchment around a pillar candle, positioning it where you want it to sit. ▶ watch 37:30
6. Cover the parchment with greaseproof paper to protect your fingers. ▶ watch 38:00
7. Hold the greaseproof paper in place and carefully apply heat from a heat tool to the back of the parchment. ▶ watch 38:15
8. Watch as the candle wax melts slightly and the parchment embeds into the wax, creating a permanent, dimensional wrap. ▶ watch 38:45
9. Allow the candle to cool and set completely before handling. ▶ watch 39:00

Astuces de l'émission

• Use greaseproof paper as a handle to protect your fingers from the heat.
• Don't apply too much heat or the wax will run excessively.
• The parchment will sit inside the melted wax layer, creating a beautiful embedded effect.
