Step by step

  1. Take an A6 landscape card panel and position it horizontally. ▶ watch 51:30

  4. Heat emboss the butterfly with perfection WOW embossing powder in the centre of the image for a matte finish. ▶ watch 54:00
  5. Apply be bold glitter WOW embossing powder to the outer edges of the butterfly wings and heat emboss for added sparkle and dimension. ▶ watch 54:45
  6. Draw a line down the middle of the butterfly to mark where you will cut away the card. ▶ watch 57:00
  7. Cut away the card panel on either side of your drawn line using large scissors, following the shape of the butterfly wing to create an unusual edge. ▶ watch 58:15
  8. Cut a piece of shibori paper pad (the inky blue paper) to fit behind the cutout butterfly wing area. ▶ watch 59:30
  9. Adhere the blue shibori paper to the back of your card panel so it shows through the cutout butterfly wing, creating contrast and making the wing pop forward. ▶ watch 1:00:30
  10. Adhere the complete front panel to your A6 card base. ▶ watch 1:01:15
  11. Add the black and white words washi tape to the inside or back of the card as a sentiment, allowing the white cardstock to provide contrast for the words to show through. ▶ watch 1:01:45
  12. Optionally colour the butterfly wings with rich blue confetti inks to complement the background paper. ▶ watch 1:02:30
