Step by step

  1. Prepare a piece of blue cardstock cut to the correct width for your card, leaving a tab at the edge for handling during embossing. ▶ watch 29:30
  2. Stamp the large fireworks background stamp onto the blue card using an embossing ink pad, applying firm pressure to capture all the detail. ▶ watch 30:00
  3. Sprinkle green, pink and blue embossing powders randomly across different areas of the stamped fireworks design. ▶ watch 31:00
  4. Tip off excess embossing powder and heat set the design with a heat gun, moving it continuously to activate all the powders evenly. ▶ watch 32:00
  5. Trim the embossed panel to the correct size and mount it onto a red glitter cardstock background, leaving a white border on the outer edge. ▶ watch 35:30
  6. Cut a hill shape from green cardstock matching the width of your card base. ▶ watch 37:45
  7. Shade the base of the hill with darker green ink and blend upwards to create a shadow effect, leaving the top lighter. ▶ watch 38:30
  8. Stamp the elephant with umbrella onto grey cardstock using black Versafine ink, applying firm pressure on textured cardstock. ▶ watch 39:30
  9. Fussy cut around the elephant character using scissors, working carefully around legs, trunk and body whilst turning the card rather than your scissors. ▶ watch 41:00
  10. Mount the green hill onto the embossed background using foam pads, positioning it at the bottom. ▶ watch 43:15
  11. Attach the fussy-cut elephant to the hill using double foam pads to create extra dimension and height. ▶ watch 44:00
  12. Heat emboss an umbrella canopy onto red glitter cardstock, fussy cut it out, curl the edges gently with your fingers, and mount it above the elephant using a small foam pad in the centre. ▶ watch 45:15
  13. Stamp the 'Make a Wish' sentiment onto black cardstock, cut it into a quirky shape, mount onto blue card with red glitter backing, and position off-centre on the card using a foam pad. ▶ watch 47:15
