Stylized Star Stencil Watercolour Spray Card

Create a beautiful card using the stylized star stencil with layered ink colours and spray effects. The stencil creates a striking star shape with distressed elements, and spraying adds a glittery, watercolour-like shimmer to the design.

You will need

Step by step

1. Place the stylized star stencil into your Eureka stamping platform, using the magnets to hold it straight. ▶ watch 3:45
2. Apply ink to the top of the stencil using a sponge or applicator. ▶ watch 4:00
3. Layer in a pink ink colour over the first colour, using your hand to anchor the stencil in place if it shifts. ▶ watch 5:30
4. Blend in purple ink to merge the colours together slightly. ▶ watch 6:00
5. Completely ink up one star element from the stencil. ▶ watch 6:15
6. Place the inked stencil into a spray box to contain the mist. ▶ watch 6:45
7. Spritz the inked stencil with spray ink from a distance to create a watercolour effect with glitter. ▶ watch 7:00
8. Stamp the 'Every New Day' sentiment stamp on top of the stencil, positioning it to avoid covering the star shape. ▶ watch 8:30
9. Mount the finished design onto a slightly larger black mat layer for contrast. ▶ watch 9:00

Tips from the show

• Clean stencils easily with a baby wipe or a little water—no soap needed.
• You don't need to use a lot of spray ink to create the effect; a little goes a long way.
• If the stencil moves during stamping, simply line it back up and continue—the Eureka platform keeps it in place.
