Gold Embossed Presents Christmas Card

An elegant adult-themed Christmas card featuring gold embossed present stamps on navy card, framed by split gold mirror card trees. The design is clean and sophisticated, perfect for a more refined festive greeting.

Step by step

1. Cut a piece of red card to fit the top of a 5 by 7 inch card blank using a trimmer. ▶ watch 30:15
2. Score and cut the red card horizontally to create two working sections, keeping one pristine for the final design. ▶ watch 31:30
3. Stamp four different present designs onto the lower section of the red card using black ink, positioning them at varying heights. ▶ watch 32:00
4. Apply gold embossing powder over the stamped presents, tapping off excess powder carefully. ▶ watch 33:15
5. Heat the embossing powder with a heat gun until it melts and sets, creating a shiny gold finish on the presents. ▶ watch 36:30
6. Glue the embossed red card panel to the card blank, positioning it towards the outer edge. ▶ watch 38:00
7. Cut a thin strip of gold mirror card and glue it vertically to cover the join between the red and white sections. ▶ watch 39:00
8. Cut two tree shapes from gold mirror card using the die, then cut each tree in half vertically down the centre. ▶ watch 40:15
9. Stamp the sentiment 'with love' onto a white square using ink that matches the card colour. ▶ watch 42:30
10. Glue the split tree halves on either side of the white sentiment square to frame it. ▶ watch 43:00
11. Mount the framed sentiment onto the card using foam pads for dimension and visual interest. ▶ watch 45:00

Tips from the show

• Use grid lines on the magnetic cutting plate to ensure your card is centred and cuts in the right area.
• If you're frugal, you can cut out the centre of the card and save the offcuts for another project.
• Secure your work with tape at the back to prevent glue from moving while you're assembling.
