A project from our live show CREATE TOGETHER CLUB - Join Toni for project 6 LIVE - broadcast 11th April 22 · 11/04/2022
A shaker card featuring a full acetate window rather than a shaped aperture, filled with colourful sequins. The card combines a stamped floral background, watercoloured flower focal point, vellum wrap with sentiment, and decorative sequin embellishments for a dynamic, movement-filled design.
Create a background on white cardstock by stamping a floral pattern repeatedly using black ink and the stamp set, repositioning the cardstock rather than the stamp to ensure even coverage.
Stamp a single flower image onto a separate piece of white cardstock to use as your focal point.
Take a second piece of white cardstock the same size as your stamped background and use a square nesting die to cut an aperture in the centre, creating your window opening.
Clean an old acetate sheet from a stamp set and cut it to the exact size of your window aperture to use as a shaker window.
Glue the acetate sheet to the back of the cardstock with the window, using everyday craft glue.
Apply foam pads around the entire inner edge of the window frame, removing the backing as you go, to create elevation for your shaker contents.
Cut a piece of vellum and wrap it around your acetate window, then trim away excess vellum.
Watercolour your flower focal point with light pink and green washes, adding colour to the flowers and leaves with a suggestion of colour rather than full coverage.
Glue your watercoloured flower piece to the foam pads on the front of your card.
Fill the shaker window with colourful sequins in coordinating shades, distributing them evenly so they move freely inside.
Add a washi tape sentiment or die-cut sentiment to the vellum wrap on your window.
Glue sequins around the edges of your focal flower and vellum wrap as additional embellishment on the front of the card.
