Step by step

  1. Cut three pieces of cardstock to 2.5 inches using a tag punch or tag die, or print a tag template and cut by hand. ▶ watch 6:45
  2. Heat emboss the Beautiful Notes stamp onto vellum using white embossing powder, keeping your heat gun hot and not holding it too close to avoid cockle. ▶ watch 7:15
  3. Heat emboss the Beautiful Notes stamp onto vellum again, this time using Halo embossing powder to create an iridescent effect with rainbow colours. ▶ watch 10:30
  4. Wet the centre of one tag piece with clean water using a brush, then drop blue ink into the wet area to create a soft halo effect, letting the water blend the colour naturally. ▶ watch 19:15
  5. Create a second tag with purple ink, wetting the cardstock and dropping colour into the centre, then blending with clean water around the edges. ▶ watch 21:45
  6. Glue two tag pieces together back-to-back to strengthen the card, then score a line on the back to create a fold for the freestanding effect. ▶ watch 27:00
  7. Adhere your heat-embossed vellum piece flat to one tag, then layer your second embossed piece on foam pads for dimension. ▶ watch 27:30
  8. Apply rub-on sentiments such as 'Bold in Progress' or 'Enough' by peeling back the carrier sheet, positioning it straight, rubbing firmly with a tool, then peeling away. ▶ watch 41:00
  9. Thread twine through the tag hole and tie in a bow, curling the ends with your finger for a decorative finish. ▶ watch 44:00
