A project from our live show CREATE TOGETHER CLUB - Show 4 - Join Toni - Broadcast 5th April 22 · 05/04/2022
Create a beautiful watercolour card using only two colours (pink and teal) to paint stamped floral images. The technique demonstrates how to layer colours, create depth through mixing, and soften harsh white lines in the background.
Stamp your floral design twice onto watercolour card using black ink.
Fussy cut around the stamped images, leaving a small border and rounding off intricate areas where scissors cannot reach.
Wet a piece of watercolour card with clean water using a wet brush.
Drop pink watercolour paint onto the wet card and let the water carry the colour across the surface.
Add splats of the same pink colour to create texture and interest in the background.
Allow the background to dry completely.
Paint the flower heads with pink watercolour, following the stamped outlines.
Paint the leaves and stems with teal watercolour to make them pop against the pink flowers.
Use a very pale or muted version of your second colour to soften harsh white lines around the fussy-cut edges.
Add additional splats of teal to the background for cohesion.
Mount your painted floral images onto the watercolour background using foam pads or glue.
Add a washi tape sentiment to the card to complete the design.
Share your make with the Stamps By Me community - and keep this guide for next time.
