Vellum Flower Card with Heat-Embossed Sentiment

Step by step

1. Ink the beautiful soul flower stamp with the WOW clear slow drying embossing ink pad onto the blue section of your time to grow vellum. ▶ watch 20:00
2. Use the anti-static pad to remove static and dust from your vellum before embossing. ▶ watch 20:15
3. Apply WOW embossing powder (gold) over the inked flower design on the vellum. ▶ watch 20:30
4. Heat set the gold powder using a heat gun, holding it at a distance to avoid burning the vellum. ▶ watch 26:15
5. Repeat the stamping, inking, and heat-setting process with white embossing powder on a second piece of vellum for contrast. ▶ watch 28:00
6. Carefully fussy cut around the embossed flower design, keeping the cuts to the main detail areas and avoiding intricate sections. ▶ watch 29:30
7. Prepare your card base by layering navy and white card stock, positioning them so they extend slightly beyond the card edges to create a border. ▶ watch 31:30
8. Adhere the vellum flower piece to your card base, wrapping it so the coloured card borders show around the edges. ▶ watch 39:45
9. Shape the flower petals by gently curling and twisting them to add dimension and soften the appearance. ▶ watch 43:00
10. Stamp and heat-emboss the 'beautiful soul' sentiment on a separate vellum offcut using gold powder. ▶ watch 43:30
11. Trim the sentiment strip and adhere it to the back of the card so it shows through the vellum without visible glue. ▶ watch 46:00
12. Add iridescent sparkle glitter to selected areas of the card using glue dots for embellishment. ▶ watch 48:00

Tips from the show

• Use the anti-static pad to keep your artwork clean and prevent powder from sticking where you don't want it.
• Keep your heat gun at a distance and ensure it is hot before applying it to minimise time on the paper and reduce warping.
• Hide glue on vellum by placing adhesive under dark areas of the design where it won't show through.
