A project from our live show Stamping Techniques - Sketched Design - Positive Sentiment - Alcohol Markers 22ND Dec 21 · 22/12/2021
Create a striking card featuring a sketched design of feet and legs stamped in smoky grey, with a positive sentiment stamped in black. Colour selectively with red alcohol markers for the shoes and blue for the trousers, leaving white spaces for a clean, simple aesthetic that really stands out.
Mount the smaller stamp from the set onto an acrylic block.
Stamp the feet and legs design onto cardstock using a smoky grey ink pad rather than traditional black.
Select a positive sentiment from the same stamp set and mount it onto the acrylic block.
Stamp the sentiment onto the cardstock in black ink so it stands out prominently.
Take a red alcohol marker and colour the base of the shoes, following the design lines up each shoe.
Use a blue ink pad to add colour to the tops of the trousers, creating the appearance of jeans or flowing trousers.
Leave white spaces in the design to create the illusion of light on the back of the jeans.
Glue the stamped and coloured design onto the front of a card with a red coral matte layer.
Enhance the design by going around the edge with a fine liner pen to add creative detail and frame the artwork.
Repeat the fine liner detail along all four sides of the design, varying the pattern so the sides don't match exactly.
Add stitch detail here and there with the fine liner to break up solid lines.
Optional: Apply glossy accents to the base of the shoes to create a shiny finish.
