Step by step

  1. Glue a piece of gold glitter cardstock to your card base, centring it and leaving a white border on the sides. ▶ watch 26:15
  2. Cut a backing panel from cardstock that is narrower than the gold layer, so you see a strip of gold down each side. ▶ watch 27:00
  3. Stamp the large Fireworks background stamp onto the backing panel using embossing ink, ensuring full coverage. ▶ watch 27:15
  4. Rub an anti-static bag over the stamped area to remove excess powder and ensure clean embossing. ▶ watch 28:00
  5. Generously cover the entire stamped area with gold embossing powder. ▶ watch 29:15
  6. Tap off excess powder back into the container, then use a heat gun to melt and set the embossing powder until it shines. ▶ watch 29:45
  7. Die-cut a circular aperture in the centre of your embossed panel using a circle die. ▶ watch 31:45
  8. Die-cut a gold ring from glitter cardstock using two circle dies of different sizes to create a frame. ▶ watch 34:30
  9. Glue the gold ring around the edge of the circular aperture, keeping glue only on the gold to maintain neatness. ▶ watch 35:15
  10. Attach an acetate panel to the back of the card over the circular hole using double-sided tape. ▶ watch 35:45
  11. Apply foam pads around the entire edge of the aperture, pushing them close together so sequins cannot escape. ▶ watch 36:45
  12. Apply a second layer of foam pads around the edge in the same way, then add support foam pads to the lower section. ▶ watch 38:30
  13. Pour gold sequins into the aperture while it is still open, filling it generously. ▶ watch 40:15
  14. Seal the shaker by pressing the pre-cut gold circle backing firmly over the foam pads and sequins. ▶ watch 40:45
