Step by step

  1. Select two pieces of cardstock from your paper stack—one for the base layer and one with a detailed pattern. ▶ watch 17:15
  2. Run a line of glue down the side of one piece of cardstock in a random pattern to prepare for glitter application. ▶ watch 17:45
  3. Sprinkle sparkly glitter over the glued edge, covering the entire glued area generously. ▶ watch 18:00
  4. Shake off the excess glitter and set this piece aside to allow the glue to dry clear. ▶ watch 18:30
  5. Use the pressed flowers die to cut out a decorative element from your cardstock. ▶ watch 19:45
  6. Add a light wash of pink ink around the edges of the cut-out element to soften the harsh white and tie the design together. ▶ watch 20:00
  7. Stamp the typewriter image onto the patterned cardstock using pink ink, positioning it slightly off-centre. ▶ watch 20:45
  8. Stamp additional design elements such as circles, splats, and butterflies onto the same piece using the same pink ink colour. ▶ watch 21:30
  9. Use a brush with water to drag the pink ink colour out from the typewriter keys, creating a softer, hand-painted effect. ▶ watch 22:45
  10. Add water to the edges of the stamped design to pull the colour outward slightly and soften the appearance. ▶ watch 23:30
  11. Flick water onto the entire stamped area with your hand to create organic splodges and push the design back visually. ▶ watch 24:00
  12. Remove excess water with a blue roll to leave soft watercolour effects on the cardstock. ▶ watch 24:30
  13. Gently turn up the corners of the cardstock and create subtle texture without scrunching it up. ▶ watch 25:30
  14. Adhere the glittered cardstock to a white top-folding note card base. ▶ watch 26:00
  15. Layer the patterned cardstock with the watercoloured typewriter design on top using foam pads for elevation. ▶ watch 26:30
  16. Wrap twine around the card in a random manner to create a decorative banner effect. ▶ watch 27:15
