A project from our live show CATCH UP with the Create Together Club - Inspiration Video 2 for Stamp A NOTE TO SAY - SHOW 26th Oct 21 · 26/10/2021
Build a modern, textured card by creating a multi-coloured inked background using an acrylic block and spray bottle, adding a hand-drawn doodle frame, stamping a large image in the centre, then cutting the finished piece in half to create two coordinating slimline cards.
Gather several IZINK dye-based ink pads in various colours such as purple, blue, and other shades from your collection.
Place an acrylic block on your work surface and apply ink from the first colour pad directly onto the block.
Spray the inked acrylic block lightly with a spray bottle to add moisture and create texture.
Press a piece of white cardstock firmly onto the inked block, then lift away to reveal the coloured, textured impression.
Repeat the process with different colour combinations, stamping the acrylic block multiple times onto the same cardstock to build up a multi-coloured background.
Spray water directly onto the inked cardstock to create additional texture and allow colours to blend slightly.
Allow the cardstock to dry completely.
Using a fine-liner pen or doodle pen, draw a decorative wiggly frame around the edges of the cardstock, looking ahead to where you want the line to go rather than watching the pen.
Add a second inner frame line and fill any awkward areas with doodles, stitching effects, or additional decorative marks.
Stamp the large 'Note to Say' stamp in the centre of the cardstock using black ink.
Measure the width of the finished piece and cut it exactly in half using a guillotine to create two slimline-format cards.
Mount each slimline piece onto a coordinating card base and add a sentiment at the bottom.
