Shaped Card with Elegant Frame Die

Create a beautiful shaped card using an elegant frame die set. The die cuts an ornate outline that you position over the hinge of a pre-scored card blank, creating an open fretwork design on the front when you fold it.

Step by step

1. Take a pre-made card blank with a hinge already scored down the middle. ▶ watch 18:45
2. Position the outline die from the elegant frame set just above the hinge so it doesn't cut into the fold line. ▶ watch 19:00
3. Secure the die with tape on both sides to keep it in place. ▶ watch 19:15
4. Run the card and die through your die-cutting machine. ▶ watch 19:30
5. Remove the tape carefully without pulling the card. ▶ watch 20:00
6. Open the card to reveal the shaped die-cut design on the front. ▶ watch 20:15
7. Cut the same shaped design from patterned paper to layer on top. ▶ watch 20:30
8. Glue the patterned paper layer onto the shaped card front. ▶ watch 21:00
9. Add a flower and sentiment to the centre if desired. ▶ watch 21:15

Tips from the show

• Position the die just over the hinge line so it doesn't cut through the fold.
• You can use the shaped die as a topper on other cards or embellishments if preferred.
