Een project uit onze liveshow Monday Madness - Kijk mee met Simon, uitgezonden 7 feb 22 · 07/02/2022
A clean, elegant card featuring stamped rope knot designs as the focal point, enhanced with a watercolour wash in blues and greens that draws attention to the details. Fish stamps and bubbles complete the design with a sentiment panel and mounted layout.
Cut a piece of watercolour card to your desired finished size.
Arrange your rope knot stamps on the card, positioning them at varying heights and angles rather than in a straight line.
Ink the rope knot stamps with Versafine black ink, pressing down firmly to capture crisp detail.
Stamp additional rope designs across the card, re-inking between each stamp.
Wet the card lightly with water using a brush to prepare it for watercolour application.
Apply a blue watercolour wash over alternate rope designs, allowing the colour to bleed naturally.
Apply green watercolour to the remaining rope designs in the same manner.
Layer darker blue pigment through the centre of the blue ropes to add depth and definition.
Layer darker green pigment through the centre of the green ropes for added contrast.
Create splatters using diluted blue and green watercolour to break up the lines between rope designs.
Dry the card completely using a heat gun.
Mount the watercoloured card onto a blue cardstock backing using a tape runner.
Die-cut a circular panel from white cardstock using a large nesting die with stitch detail.
Trim the circular panel to create a rectangular strip that will cover the top of the card.
Stamp your sentiment onto the panel using black Versafine ink, applying two coats for crispness.
Stamp a fish design onto a strip of watercolour card scrap.
