Starry Basket Bouquet Card with Cheshire Background

A handmade greeting card featuring a stamped basket of flowers with a starry background created using stencils and sparkly paste. The card combines white-on-white die-cutting with colourful accents and sequins for a cheerful, dimensional design.

Stap voor stap

1. Cut the Cheshire cover plate die from white cardstock using your die-cutting machine, angling it slightly for interest. ▶ watch 8:00
2. Place a piece of mirror card or coloured cardstock behind the white die-cut to make the design stand out. ▶ watch 9:30
3. Secure the 7x7 star stencil onto white cardstock using tape to hold it in place. ▶ watch 10:45
4. Apply the silver Izink Diamond 24 Carats paste through the stencil using a spatula, working sporadically across the design. ▶ watch 12:00
5. Fill in the remaining star spaces with the orange Izink Diamond 24 Carats paste, creating a mixed colour effect. ▶ watch 14:45
6. Allow the paste to dry for a couple of minutes, then carefully lift away the stencil to reveal the sparkly star background. ▶ watch 16:30
7. Stamp the basket image from the new stamp set onto white cardstock using black memento ink. ▶ watch 18:45
8. Fussy cut around the basket stamp carefully with scissors. ▶ watch 21:00
9. Colour the basket using alcohol markers in brown tones, applying lighter shades first and darker shades along the woven lines for dimension. ▶ watch 22:45
10. Stamp the sentiment 'You are amazing' onto white cardstock in black ink and fussy cut it out. ▶ watch 31:45
11. Mount the starry background panel onto black cardstock, then attach to a white card blank. ▶ watch 33:45
12. Adhere the coloured basket image to the card using 3D foam pads for dimension. ▶ watch 38:00
13. Attach the sentiment strip to the card. ▶ watch 39:00
14. Add purple sequins in clusters of three around the design for sparkle and embellishment. ▶ watch 40:30

Tips uit de show

• Use memento ink with alcohol markers and versafine ink with watercolours to avoid bleeding.
• When using alcohol markers, let the ink evaporate between layers rather than going over the same area repeatedly, as the colour dries lighter than it appears wet.
• Follow the lines on the stamp when adding shading with alcohol markers to create natural dimension and light and shade effects.
