Een project uit onze liveshow Stamping Techniques - Lamination Stamp - Artistic Design - Watercolour Technique 22 dec 21 · 22/12/2021
Create an artistic watercolour-effect tulip card using a two-part lamination stamp system. The technique allows you to build up colours in layers and blend them with water to achieve a painted masterpiece look, finished with a sketchy outline stamp and sentiment.
Grab a piece of white cardstock and prepare your work surface.
Take the solid portion of the lamination stamp and lay it face down onto your cardstock.
Ink up each flower area with a complete orange colour, allowing the colour to move into adjacent areas for a more realistic effect.
Swipe pink ink down one side of the flowers to create pretty pink and orange tulips.
Swap to a lighter green ink pad and ink up all the green leaf areas you can see on the stamp.
Add contrast by inking the tips of the grass and centres with a darker green ink, applying randomly for natural variation.
Spray the inked stamp with water using a spray bottle—not too much, just enough to get the colours moving around.
Press the wet stamp down onto the cardstock and let it drink in the ink, then lift it away to reveal the watercolour effect.
Place the outline stamp (the sketchy portion) on top of the dried watercolour image and ink it with black ink.
Select a sentiment from the carrier sheet and stamp it in black ink onto a separate piece of cardstock, ensuring it is straight.
Glue the watercoloured tulip piece onto a card base using your choice of adhesive.
Glue the sentiment strip across the base of the card to complete your artwork.
