Design a clean and elegant card featuring peonies on a black and white striped background, enhanced with a gold overlay that creates a subtle drop shadow effect. This card showcases both inky texture and clean, simple styling.

Stap voor stap

1. Cut six strips from the black and white striped paper pad to use as your background elements. ▶ watch 26:45
2. Apply glue to the back of each striped piece, leaving a tiny gap to create a black drop shadow underneath. ▶ watch 27:15
3. Layer the gold-covered strips over the black and white stripes, aligning them carefully to show the black lines as a shadow effect. ▶ watch 27:30
4. Trim the edges of the layered strips with scissors to create clean lines. ▶ watch 29:45
5. Stamp and heat-emboss the peony design onto the prepared background. ▶ watch 30:00
6. Die-cut the peony design using the coordinating outline die. ▶ watch 30:30
7. Apply foam pads around the top and right side of the die-cut design to create dimension. ▶ watch 32:15
8. Adhere the padded peony design to the card base, positioning it to overlap the striped background. ▶ watch 33:45
9. Apply clear glitter sparkle pens to the flowers for added embellishment. ▶ watch 35:15
10. Mount the card onto a pink folding note card base. ▶ watch 34:00

Tips uit de show

• Use the printed lines on the striped paper as a guide to keep your gold overlay straight.
• The black drop shadow effect makes the gold stripes pop and prevents them from disappearing into the background.
