#CONE 05 ORTON BOX 25

The Orton Cone 05 is a pyrometric cone designed to help you monitor firing temperatures during the kiln process. If you work with clay, ceramics or pottery, these cones bend at a specific temperature (1031–1044 °C) to give you a reliable visual indicator of when your pieces have reached the right heat.

Place a cone on a small piece of unglazed bisque inside your kiln, then watch it during firing. As your kiln reaches temperature, the cone will gradually bend, signalling that your work has been fired to the correct level. This takes the guesswork out of achieving consistent results with your ceramic pieces.
