Golden Harvest DL Card with Fussy-Cut Florals and Sentiment

A DL-sized card made from the Golden Harvest card kit, featuring fussy-cut flowers, a butterfly, and a sentiment panel arranged in a cascading design with sparkle embellishments. The card uses the topper elements creatively, layered with foam pads for dimension.

Step by step

1. Score and fold a piece of craft-coloured card stock to create a DL-sized card blank. ▶ watch 33:30
2. Trim the card to your desired width, keeping the darker colour on the outside for visual impact. ▶ watch 33:45
3. Select a topper panel with a white aperture and trim it down, removing excess from each side to fit your DL card. ▶ watch 34:00
4. Cut the topper panel in half horizontally so you can position one section at the top and one at the bottom of your card. ▶ watch 35:15
5. Ink the white edges of your card panels with black ink to neaten the appearance. ▶ watch 36:00
6. Adhere the top and bottom topper sections to your card base using adhesive. ▶ watch 36:30
7. Fussy-cut flowers and a butterfly from the topper sheets, working carefully around the designs. ▶ watch 48:00
8. Arrange the fussy-cut elements in a cascading pattern down the centre of your card, using foam pads for dimension. ▶ watch 51:00
9. Die-cut or trim a sentiment from the preprinted sentiment sheets included in the kit. ▶ watch 55:30
10. Adhere the sentiment to the card, positioning it to balance the white space. ▶ watch 56:00
11. Apply sparkle embellishments (stickles) around the frame and to the butterfly to add finishing detail and dimension. ▶ watch 58:00

Tips from the show

• You can cut into the card blanks and envelopes from the kit to create different card styles rather than just using them as-is.
• Use foam pads to raise elements and create dimension on your card.
• Stickles are inexpensive and finish projects beautifully—apply them to centres of flowers, create pearl effects, or frame details.
