Blossom Embossed Card on Textured Cardstock

A square card using the Blossom embossing folder design on different textured cardstocks. The embossed detail creates a beautiful frame effect, and you can enhance it with gilding wax or leave it simple for an elegant look.

Step by step

1. Select a piece of textured or patterned cardstock such as satin board or holographic paper. ▶ watch 15:00
2. Insert the cardstock into the embossing folder, positioning it centrally. ▶ watch 15:15
3. Run the embossing folder through your die-cutting machine. ▶ watch 15:30
4. Remove the embossed card and pull out the centre to reveal the embossed frame with the double hexagon edge detail. ▶ watch 15:45
5. Optionally apply gilding wax over the embossed areas to highlight the detail and add dimension. ▶ watch 17:00
6. Mount the finished embossed piece onto a card base or use it as a standalone design element. ▶ watch 17:30

Tips from the show

• The textured cardstock creates a totally different look compared to white cardstock, making the embossed detail stand out beautifully.
• You don't need to add much else to this design—the embossed detail is the star.
• Holographic or mirror cardstock really showcases the gorgeous embossed detail.
