Francesca Shaped Card with Embossed Window Detail

Make a pretty shaped card using the Francesca outline die, then add dimension by embossing the waist section with a 3D embossing folder and repositioning it back into the card for a striking effect.

Step by step

1. Cut two pieces from the Francesca outline die. ▶ watch 32:30
2. Score one piece across the waist area to create a fold line. ▶ watch 32:45
3. Glue the top part of the scored piece to create a shaped card that stands. ▶ watch 33:00
4. Take the waist section that falls out from the middle of the die-cut. ▶ watch 33:15
5. Place the waist section into a 3D embossing folder to create dimensional texture. ▶ watch 33:30
6. Position the embossed waist back into the card, either flat or slightly curved for dimension. ▶ watch 33:45
7. Pop out any die-cut elements that are included in the design to add further dimension. ▶ watch 34:00
8. Lift some of the floral elements slightly to create height and movement on the card. ▶ watch 34:15

Tips from the show

• Do not be too precious about getting all elements stuck down flat; slight lifting creates better dimension.
• Use a poke tool to push elements underneath whilst keeping the raised parts visible.
