A stamped card using exactly three colours to create visual interest through layering and overlaying techniques. The design demonstrates how layering different coloured stamps can create the illusion of additional colours.

Step by step

1. Choose three colours for your design. ▶ watch 38:45
2. Stamp your first colour onto white card stock. ▶ watch 39:00
3. Overlay your second colour stamp on top of the first, allowing the colours to interact. ▶ watch 40:00
4. Apply your third colour to complete the design, creating depth through layering. ▶ watch 41:30
5. Add shadows or highlights using one of your three chosen colours to enhance dimension. ▶ watch 42:00
6. Mount your stamped panel onto a card base. ▶ watch 45:30
7. Add a sentiment or text using one of your three colours to complete the card. ▶ watch 46:00

Tips from the show

• When you overlay colours, they create the visual appearance of additional colours, so plan your layering carefully.
• Using foam tape under elements creates dimension and makes the card more visually interesting.
