Layered High Heel Shoe Card with Stencils and Stamp

A project from our live show Create and Craft Show 28th FEB 23 - Join Toni for her latest products and inspiration - show 1 · 28/02/2023 · watch it from 13:00

Create a striking high heel shoe card using the three-stage stencil layering system from the Quattro D collection. The shoe builds dimension through layered ink application, then is finished with a coordinating stamp and optional die-cut outline for a shop-bought quality result.

Step by step

  1. Line up stencil number one at the top left corner of your card stock, using the four hearts in the corner as alignment guides if needed. ▶ watch 13:15
  2. Apply ink through stencil one using a light wash of colour, pressing gently and not worrying about perfect coverage as each layer will build on the last. ▶ watch 13:30
  3. Remove stencil one and position stencil two, aligning it with the edge of the card or using the heart guides, then apply the same or a different ink colour. ▶ watch 14:45
  4. Apply stencil three in the same way, pressing harder with the ink pad to create darker definition on this final stencil layer. ▶ watch 15:30
  5. If the colour is not dark enough, return to stencil one and add more colour to build depth, as there are no rules about revisiting stencils. ▶ watch 16:15
  6. Line up the coordinating stamp on top of your layered stencil design and stamp in black or your chosen colour, allowing a small margin for error. ▶ watch 17:30
  7. Place your card into the 3D embossing folder, ensuring it goes in the correct way (it will only fit one direction), and run it through your embossing machine. ▶ watch 19:00
  8. Optional: die-cut around the shoe using the coordinating outline die to create a shaped embellishment, or leave the design on the card as is. ▶ watch 20:00
