Embossed Floral Card with White Ink and Sparkle Powder

Create an elegant card using a high-definition 3D embossing folder with white ink, embossing powder, and optional sparkle accents. The technique produces a dimensional floral design with subtle iridescence that elevates the card from simple to sophisticated.

Step by step

  1. Cut white card stock to size and run it through your embossing machine with the Tiger Lily or Pretty Peony HD 3D embossing folder. ▶ watch 40:45
  2. Ink a white ink pad and tap it repeatedly across the embossed design to fill in all the raised areas, ensuring full coverage of the dimensional details. ▶ watch 43:30
  3. Sprinkle iridescent embossing powder (such as Salt) into the centre of the flowers and leaves for accent sparkle. ▶ watch 48:30
  4. Tap off any excess powder onto a card to catch it, then heat set with an embossing heat gun held at a distance. ▶ watch 49:00
  5. Layer the embossed piece onto patterned paper that complements the floral design. ▶ watch 51:45
  6. Stamp a sentiment onto a separate piece of card stock using sticky embossing ink. ▶ watch 53:30
  7. Emboss the sentiment with white or coordinating embossing powder and heat set. ▶ watch 54:30
  8. Trim the sentiment piece and edge it with a dark ink pad by swiping the edges for dimension. ▶ watch 1:02:00
  9. Attach foam pads to the back of the sentiment piece and adhere it to the main card. ▶ watch 1:03:15
