Stay Fancy Black Embossed Spray Art Card

A striking card using black cardstock with the Stay Fancy stamp embossed in black, then enhanced with colourful spray inks to create a vibrant, multi-era portrait effect. The technique combines embossing with ink spraying for a bold, artistic finish.

Step by step

1. Start with black cardstock as your base. ▶ watch 52:00
2. Apply embossing ink pad to the Stay Fancy stamp. ▶ watch 52:15
3. Stamp the image onto the black cardstock. ▶ watch 52:30
4. Sprinkle black embossing powder over the stamped image, starting at the top and allowing it to cascade down. ▶ watch 52:45
5. Heat set the embossing powder with a heat tool until it puffs up and sets. ▶ watch 53:00
6. Spray rose gold ink spray over the embossed image. ▶ watch 53:30
7. Add purple spray ink to create a peacock-like colour blend. ▶ watch 55:30
8. Add touches of yellow spray ink to the design. ▶ watch 55:45
9. Use a fan brush with a little water over the top to help the spray inks mix and blend together. ▶ watch 56:00

Tips from the show

• Use 3D embossing powders for a thicker, more raised dimension.
• Spray inks absorb into the embossing, creating beautiful blended effects.
• The embossed texture helps the spray inks sit and blend rather than just sitting on the surface.
