Make It Happen Watercolour Fairy Card

A delicate card featuring the Make It Happen stamp with loose watercolour painting to create an ethereal fairy or angel figure. The technique uses spray and water effects to build soft, dreamy layers of colour.

Step by step

1. Spray your cardstock with water and ink, then spray water across it to create a blended background effect. ▶ watch 23:15
2. Offset the Make It Happen stamp at the bottom of the cardstock so you don't stamp the bauble element. ▶ watch 23:30
3. Use Versafine ink to stamp the image clearly onto your prepared background. ▶ watch 23:45
4. Apply a light wash of watercolour using moist watercolours, layering colours to build the image. ▶ watch 24:00
5. Add blue tones to create wings or additional details, blending as you go. ▶ watch 24:30
6. Continue layering watercolour to develop the figure, whether as a tooth fairy, Christmas fairy, or ballerina. ▶ watch 25:00
7. Add a glitter wash or iridescent effect with a clean, damp brush to finish. ▶ watch 25:30
8. Dry the card completely before adding any final details or mounting. ▶ watch 26:00

Tips from the show

• You don't need to be a confident artist as the stamp lines guide your colouring.
• You can use alcohol markers instead of watercolours if you prefer.
• The stamp is versatile—the same image can become different characters depending on how you colour and interpret it.
