Tunnel Pocket Page with Tag Slider

A specialised page insert for your album that features a tunnel channel allowing tags or cards to slide in and out. This creates an interactive element where you can display different photos or messages by sliding them through the opening.

Step by step

1. Measure the width of your album's hinge (approximately 1.5 inches) to determine the tunnel width. ▶ watch 32:00
2. Cut a piece of cardstock to fit your album's pocket depth, adding an extra inch for the hinge allowance. ▶ watch 32:15
3. Score the card at 4.5 inches on each side to mark where the tunnel opening will be positioned. ▶ watch 32:30
4. Create a tunnel by scoring a line approximately 1 inch from the fold to form the channel walls. ▶ watch 33:00
5. Taper the edges of the tunnel opening using scissors to remove bulk and ensure tags slide smoothly. ▶ watch 33:30
6. Adhere the tunnel page to the album's hinge using tape, ensuring the opening faces outward. ▶ watch 34:00
7. Test-fit your tags or cards to ensure they slide freely through the tunnel without catching. ▶ watch 34:30

Tips from the show

• If the tunnel feels too tight, trim the edges further with scissors to allow smooth sliding.
• You can partially glue items inside the tunnel (three-quarters of the way down) to keep them in place while still allowing some movement.
