Dry Brush Multicoloured Three-Panel Landscape Card

A project from our live show ANYTHING GOES - Join Toni for the show where you decide what happens - Broadcast 17th AUG 22 · 17/08/2022 · watch it from 7:45

A landscape card with three vertical panels featuring a dry brush ink technique in pink, yellow and teal. The panels create a striped background effect that looks like reflections, with the Stand Tall stamp set stamped once in each panel for a simple but impactful design.

Step by step

  1. Prepare two pieces of card: one for a black and grey monochromatic version, one for a pink background with black mat and grey layer. ▶ watch 7:45
  2. Gather your colour ink pads (pink, yellow and teal) and a flat watercolour brush. ▶ watch 8:00
  3. Load your dry brush with pink ink by picking it up directly from the ink pad, without adding water. ▶ watch 9:30
  4. Create a dry brush line down the first panel by moving the brush in a zigzag motion from left to right, going over it several times to build up the scratched effect. ▶ watch 11:00
  5. Clean your brush by brushing it off on scrap white card stock to remove the pink ink. ▶ watch 12:30
  6. Repeat the dry brush technique in the centre panel using yellow ink, creating zigzag lines from left to right. ▶ watch 13:00
  7. Clean your brush again and apply the teal colour to the third panel using the same dry brush zigzag technique. ▶ watch 14:15
  8. Stamp the Stand Tall design once in each of the three coloured panels using a thin block, varying which flower design you use in each panel. ▶ watch 16:30
  9. Add a sentiment using washi tape tickers, trimming to fit and positioning to one side of the card. ▶ watch 17:45
  10. Mount the finished panel onto your card base. ▶ watch 18:30
