A project from our live show FUNKY TUESDAY - Join the awesome Sarah Gray from Funky Fossil for her BRAND NEW AND EXCLUSIVE product launch - Broadcast 9th AUG 22 · 09/08/2022 · watch it from 36:45

A card made by covering card stock with script washi tape, then die-cutting a butterfly from it to create a patterned focal point. The negative space is used as a second project, layered with vintage butterfly washi tape and heat-embossed sentiment for an elegant, coordinated design.

Step by step

  1. Cover an A6 piece of card with script washi tape by laying down strips side by side, not worrying about perfect alignment as you'll be die-cutting it. ▶ watch 37:00
  2. Die-cut the solid butterfly die from the washi-covered card to create a patterned butterfly focal point. ▶ watch 37:45
  3. Cover a second piece of card generously with vintage butterfly washi tape, layering strips to create a background pattern. ▶ watch 51:30
  4. Position the butterfly aperture (negative space from the first die-cut) over the vintage butterfly washi tape background. ▶ watch 52:00
  5. Stamp the 'without imagination we have no wings' sentiment in the centre of the butterfly aperture using versamark ink. ▶ watch 52:30
  6. Heat emboss the sentiment in white embossing powder. ▶ watch 53:00
