Glueless Gift Box with Rivets and Embellishments

Make a 4x4x4 inch glueless gift box using the box and envelope maker board. This box closes securely using rivets instead of glue, and can be decorated with coordinating papers and embellishments to create a beautiful presentation for small gifts.

Step by step

1. Cut your card stock to 12 by 12 inches as specified on the board for a 4x4x4 box. ▶ watch 1:01:00
2. Line up your card stock with the XL score lines on the board, starting at the marked position. ▶ watch 1:01:30
3. Score along the first XL line by gently running your tool down the line. ▶ watch 1:02:00
4. Twist the card to the next XL line and score again. ▶ watch 1:02:15
5. Continue scoring along all four XL lines, twisting the card after each score. ▶ watch 1:02:30
6. Punch out the small triangular pieces at each corner using the board's punch tool. ▶ watch 1:03:00
7. Insert rivets into the corner holes by placing the rivet point into the corner and punching to secure. ▶ watch 1:04:00
8. Fold up the sides of the box and engage the hook and eye closure system at the top. ▶ watch 1:05:00
9. Decorate the finished box with coordinating papers, die-cut elements, and embellishments as desired. ▶ watch 1:05:30

Tips from the show

• Try the board on a piece of scrap paper first before using your best card stock.
• Take your time with the hook and eye closure system as it can pop back out—be patient and don't rush.
• You can make boxes as small as 1.75 inches to fit chocolates, or larger sizes like this 4x4x4 box.
