Whispering Wings Embossed Vellum Fairy Card

A delicate fairy card featuring an embossed vellum background with moon and star details, layered with die-cut fairy figures and coordinating sentiments. The design creates an ethereal, magical look with dimensional wings and sparkle embellishments.

Step by step

1. Run the embossing folder through your machine on a piece of craft-coloured card stock to create the moon and draping stars background. ▶ watch 20:45
2. Reveal the embossed card and apply white pigment ink over the embossed details using a dabbing motion to highlight the texture. ▶ watch 22:00
3. Blend away any excess white ink with a brush or finger to create a clean, blended finish on the embossed background. ▶ watch 22:45
4. Place the preprinted vellum from the paper pack into the embossing folder and run it through the machine to create a coordinating embossed vellum layer. ▶ watch 30:15
5. Trim the embossed vellum to fit your card size, being careful not to cut too much away. ▶ watch 32:15
6. Adhere the embossed vellum to the back of your card base using glue only in areas where it will be hidden by other elements. ▶ watch 40:00
7. Fussy cut a fairy figure from the paper pad, carefully cutting around the wings and body to remove it from the frame. ▶ watch 27:45
8. Select a coordinating sentiment from the paper pack and fussy cut it with scissors, leaving the cream border detail around the edges. ▶ watch 33:45
9. Adhere the sentiment to the centre of the card, positioning it over the embossed vellum. ▶ watch 44:45
10. Apply gold glitter glue sparingly to the fairy wings and allow to dry. ▶ watch 45:30
11. Adhere the fairy figure flat underneath the glitter, positioning the wings so they pop up off the card for dimension. ▶ watch 45:45
12. Add small sparkle embellishments around the fairy and along the embossed details to complete the card. ▶ watch 47:15

Tips from the show

• Use glue only in areas that will be hidden by other elements to avoid visible adhesive on vellum.
• Allow glitter glue to dry completely before handling to prevent smudging.
• You get multiple copies of each fairy design in the paper pad, so don't be afraid to cut into them.
