Step by step

  1. Cut multiple wallet die shapes from your patterned paper, ensuring you cut on the white side so the pattern shows on the inside of each page. ▶ watch 9:15
  2. Fold each wallet piece in half to create individual pages. ▶ watch 10:30
  3. Glue the folded pages back to back, stacking them together to create the multi-page structure. Use different coloured papers for each page so they fan out in variety. ▶ watch 17:30
  4. Cut closure strips from the dye pieces and glue them to the front and back of your stacked pages, leaving a slight hump in the middle to accommodate the clasp mechanism. ▶ watch 22:30
  5. Cut belt buckle pieces from the dye and glue them underneath the front closure panel. ▶ watch 24:00
  6. Cut pocket die shapes from the dye pieces and glue one onto each page (except one, which you leave plain for the slider element). ▶ watch 29:30
  7. Cut a second closure piece and glue it to the inside back page to create a clasp that holds the book open when displayed. ▶ watch 35:45
  8. Decorate the front cover with a plaque or panel from your paper collection, positioning it off to one side. ▶ watch 40:00
  9. Blend black or vintage colour around the white edges using a blending brush to tidy up and tie the design together. ▶ watch 51:00
  10. Optional: thread twine down the middle of the book and tie it in a bow at the side for extra decoration. ▶ watch 52:00
