Layered Peony and Carnation Dimensional Card

Create a stunning dimensional card using layering stencils and dies to build beautiful peony and carnation flowers in multiple colours. The card features a unique frame created by cutting and arranging the flower pieces around a white card base, with raised elements for depth and dimension.

Step by step

  1. Cut your card stock in half to create your base card. ▶ watch 20:45
  2. Position stencil number one in the corner of your card and blend pink ink through it using a blending brush. ▶ watch 22:00
  3. Layer stencil number two over the first layer and apply the same pink ink, pressing slightly harder for more colour. ▶ watch 23:15
  4. Apply stencil number three and change to orange ink to add colour variation to the flower. ▶ watch 24:00
  5. Apply stencil number five with the leaf elements, keeping the same teal colour from your original design. ▶ watch 26:45
  6. Apply stencil number six to complete the layering sequence. ▶ watch 28:00
  7. Die-cut the flower heads using the outline die from the set. ▶ watch 31:30
  8. Cut the layered pieces into individual flower elements using scissors, separating them from the card base. ▶ watch 40:00
  9. Arrange the flower pieces around the edges of a white card to create a decorative frame, using low-tack tape to position them temporarily. ▶ watch 45:00
  10. Trim away excess paper from around the arranged flowers using scissors. ▶ watch 48:30
  11. Apply foam pads to the back of each flower piece to raise them from the card base. ▶ watch 49:00
  12. Adhere the raised flowers permanently to the card using glue, then add a sentiment die-cut to complete the design. ▶ watch 53:45
