Layered Floral Christmas Card with Vintage Edging

A more decorative Christmas card featuring layered die-cut flowers in cream and red tones with green foliage, vintage-edged sentiment, and gem embellishments. This design showcases the full potential of the Holly and Berry collection's die sets.

Step by step

  1. Start with a 5x7 white card blank as your base. ▶ watch 43:00
  2. Select a craft or kraft-coloured cardstock layer and adhere it to the front of your card blank. ▶ watch 43:15
  3. Die-cut multiple flower shapes from the cream-coloured paper using the Holly and Berry layering flower die set. ▶ watch 44:00
  4. Die-cut smaller flower centres and layer them together, stacking and offsetting for dimension. ▶ watch 44:30
  5. Blend a warm vintage ink colour (such as brushed corduroy) onto the petal edges using a blending brush to add depth and prevent flatness. ▶ watch 45:00
  6. Die-cut green foliage pieces from the Holly and Berry foliage die set in varying shades of green. ▶ watch 46:00
  7. Cut out a pre-printed sentiment (such as 'Warm Wishes') from the included sentiment sheet using scissors. ▶ watch 47:00
  8. Distress the edges of the sentiment by gently whiskering them with scissors, then edge with the same vintage ink pad. ▶ watch 47:30
  9. Arrange the layered flowers, foliage, and sentiment on your card, positioning them to create a balanced composition. ▶ watch 48:00
  10. Adhere all elements using glue, placing some flowers flat and lifting others slightly with foam pads for dimension. ▶ watch 49:00
  11. Add small red gems or sequins to the flower centres and scattered throughout the foliage for sparkle. ▶ watch 50:00
  12. Allow all glue to dry completely before your card is ready to send. ▶ watch 52:00
