Folded Square Gift Wallet from 12x12 Paper

A simple yet elegant folded paper wallet made from a single square sheet of patterned or plain cardstock. The design creates a pocket envelope perfect for holding small gifts, cards, or keepsakes, with a beautiful finished look that requires no cutting.

Step by step

  1. Select a square piece of paper (6x6, 8x8, or 12x12 depending on desired size) from your stash. ▶ watch 5:45
  2. Fold the paper corner to corner diagonally, lining up the corners as straight as possible. ▶ watch 6:00
  3. Give the fold a good crease along the entire edge. ▶ watch 6:15
  4. Pull the top point down to the centre line and crease firmly to create a score line. ▶ watch 6:45
  5. Fold the bottom left corner up to meet the crease line you just made, then score that fold. ▶ watch 7:15
  6. Fold the bottom right corner up to align with the top, creating a symmetrical pocket shape. ▶ watch 8:00
  7. Open up the folds to reveal the pocket inside. ▶ watch 8:15
  8. Glue or tape the side flaps down to secure the pocket structure. ▶ watch 9:00
  9. Fold the front flap up to display your chosen pattern or design on the exterior. ▶ watch 9:15
