Reflection Collection Tomorrow Card with Painted Background

Paint a watercolour background and layer the Tomorrow reflection stamp set to create a romantic scene with swans, water reflections and foliage. The built-in reflection in the stamp creates depth without extra work.

Step by step

  1. Prepare your watercolour card stock and use a flat brush to apply blue ink across the card. ▶ watch 52:00
  2. Spray the inked card with water and blend the colour from light at the top to darker at the bottom using horizontal brush strokes. ▶ watch 52:30
  3. Use a heat tool to dry the painted background completely. ▶ watch 53:00
  4. Stamp the swan image in black ink, positioning it in the upper portion of the card where the swans will appear to be in the water. ▶ watch 59:00
  5. Stamp the water reflection lines below the swans to create the illusion of water ripples and depth. ▶ watch 59:45
  6. Stamp the foliage silhouette in black ink on the left side of the card to frame the swans. ▶ watch 1:01:45
  7. Optionally stamp additional foliage in green ink on the right side, moving the stamp slightly to create texture and layering. ▶ watch 1:02:30
  8. Use orange ink pad to add colour to the swans' beaks and a hint of colour to the reflection below. ▶ watch 1:04:45
  9. Layer white ink pad over the swans to bring them forward and create contrast against the blue background. ▶ watch 1:05:30
  10. Apply clear glue in random lines across the water area and sprinkle clear sparkles over it to create shimmer when dry. ▶ watch 1:07:00
